Wrong city or state? Find out why—and where to fix it.

A website thinks you are somewhere else? Compare the locations reported for your IP, then find where to request a correction.

How to request a correction
  1. Compare the sources for the IP you are using on the affected connection. Check whether a VPN, proxy, or mobile network explains the location.
  2. Identify the incorrect country, state or region, or city. A registrant’s postal address is not the location of the person using an IP.
  3. Open the relevant correction page and supply the IP, expected location, and evidence requested by that provider. Some forms require network ownership or device-location verification.
  4. Check again after the provider processes its update. Acceptance and update times vary; a website may use another source or location signal.
